A multimedia producer with a passion for community storytelling.
Shawn Batten is the founder and owner of Batten Media House, an Ottawa-based multimedia production company specializing in podcasting, digital storytelling, video production, and community-focused content. With a background in media, communications, and community leadership, Shawn helps organizations, businesses, and initiatives bring meaningful stories to life through creative media and strategic promotion.
He is also the owner of Laser Tag Ottawa, a mobile laser tag experience focused on active, screen-free fun for birthdays, schools, camps, community events, and team-building experiences across the Ottawa region.
Known for his strong connection to the local community, Shawn has held leadership roles across youth programs, arts, recreation, and non-profit organizations, including serving as Communications Director at Youth Ottawa, Director of Marketing & Publicity at Kanata Theatre, and Sailing Activities Manager at Nepean Sailing Club.
Through Batten Media House, Shawn combines storytelling, production, and community connection to create media that informs, engages, and brings people together.
